Vault — Expense & Budget Tracker

Privacy Policy

Your financial life is personal. Vault is designed to keep the information you enter on your own device.

Effective September 15, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Vault — Expense & Budget Tracker ("Vault," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the app. It applies to Vault version 1.0.0 and later versions that link to this policy.

This policy does not govern an app store, operating-system provider, device manufacturer, or any other third party. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy terms.

2. Information in Vault

Vault lets you enter and manage information for your own use. The app stores this information locally and does not send it to us.

Information Examples Where it stays
Financial entries Transaction amounts, type, date, category, and notes On your device
Planning information Budgets, savings goals, and custom categories On your device
Preferences Display name, currency, theme, and onboarding status On your device

Information we do not collect

We do not receive your Vault entries, create user profiles, or collect account credentials, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or payment-card or bank-account details. Vault does not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. How information is used

Information you enter is processed on your device solely to provide the app's features—for example, calculating balances, organizing transactions, displaying reports, tracking budgets and goals, and remembering your preferences.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, cross-app tracking, or marketing.

4. Sharing and third parties

Vault does not sell, rent, or share the financial or profile information you enter. The app has no cloud sync or developer-run server to which that information could be uploaded.

Google Fonts

On platforms where runtime font retrieval is available, Vault may request the Inter font from Google Fonts. That request does not include your Vault entries, but Google may receive ordinary technical request information such as your IP address and browser or device details. Google's handling of that information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

App stores and operating systems

The service through which you obtain Vault and the operating system on your device may independently process information such as download, purchase, diagnostic, or device data. We do not control those services or their privacy practices.

We may disclose information if required by law. Because we do not receive or retain the content you enter in Vault, we generally do not possess that content to disclose.

5. Storage and retention

Vault stores app data in local storage on your device. It remains there until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. We do not set a separate server-side retention period because we do not receive this data.

Your device or operating-system provider may include app data in a device backup, depending on your device and backup settings. Those backups are controlled by you and the relevant provider, not by Vault.

6. Your choices

  • You decide what information to enter in Vault.
  • You can edit or delete individual entries in the app.
  • You can remove transactions, goals, and budgets using Settings → Clear all data.
  • You can remove all locally stored app data by clearing Vault's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app.
  • You can manage device backups through your operating-system or cloud-backup settings.

Because we do not hold your locally stored Vault data, we cannot access, correct, export, or delete it remotely on your behalf.

7. Security

Keeping data on-device limits its exposure, but no storage method is completely secure. Vault relies on your device's application sandbox and the security protections provided by your operating system. You should keep your device software current, use a screen lock, and protect access to your device and backups.

8. Children's privacy

Vault is a general-audience budgeting tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children—or from any user—through an account, analytics service, or developer-run server. If you believe a child has provided information to us outside the app, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Vault's features or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date above and, when appropriate, provide notice in the app or through its store listing. Material changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date.

10. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, contact the Vault developer using the developer contact information shown on the official app store listing from which you downloaded Vault. Please do not send sensitive financial information with your inquiry.
